Anthony Gentile is the Director of Art & Marketing for Xela Pack, which has been his family’s business since 1987. With over 20 years of experience in the packaging industry, Anthony’s goal has been to produce the best possible sample packaging while paying utmost respect to the environment. Who is Xela Pack?

“So what’s environmentally conscious about Xela Pack?” It’s a question I get all the time. Sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start, because so many people have so many ideas about what environmental consciousness really means. At Xela Pack, we consider the impact of everything we do. We’ve been at this for a while now.
My family has been in the packaging business for more than 40 years with Gentile Packaging Machinery, our parent company, which still exists today producing custom packaging machinery. My father Aliseo Gentile saw the wasteful nature of the industry early, and in 1987 we started producing the type of sample packaging that we produce today. We call it the Xela Pack.

Traditionally, small plastic bottles and tubes have been the standard for sampling, but as consumers grow more aware of the dangers of plastic, product companies are looking for other ways to provide those consumers with samples of their products in more environmentally conscious ways. That’s where we come in.
The Xela Pack is a 75% paper constructed pack that is used for sample and trial size packaging. It’s a paper/foil/poly or paper/poly pack that is fully collapsible and offers many environmental advantages compared to small plastic bottles and tubes. The pack offers a 92% reduction in plastic compared to bottles and tubes of the same capacity and can be constructed using 100% post consumer recycled paper for the paper portion. Simply put, the Xela Pack itself is environmentally superior to other types of sample packages. But that’s not the end with Xela Pack.
